Where it All Started Many newlifers made a two year commitment, gave, joined in prayer, and fulfilled that commitment to this vision. I thank you and ask that you continue to pray for your next step. In July 2008, we were able to purchase 5.3 acres off Clear Creek (Parcel A) and later in June 2009, the adjacent 3.5 acres (Parcel B). That is nearly 9 acres, which is zoned “regional commercial”, accessed off Clear Creek and Greaves Way in Silverdale – a beautiful million-dollar road to service future development.

 

The Vision As a multi-campus, people becoming the church movement, we envisioned this property being used to get us to a facility that would be in the middle of what’s happening in the community and provide space for the following:

  • Training Center The centerpiece of our vision. Apprenticeship and classes for all ages to equip and empower people to live on the mission with Jesus in their everyday life. We are people becoming the church, and we must invest more into people!
  • Gathering SpacesBoth adult and youth gatherings during the week.
    • On Sundays, either in place of or in addition to Klahowya Secondary School. Over the past five years, the Silverdale campus has doubled and launched three additional campuses around the Kitsap Peninsula.  What do the next five, ten, twenty-five years look like?
    • With 300-400 students meeting weekly but constantly being displaced, will give an opportunity for consistent gathering space in order to apprentice and disciple the next generation followers of Jesus.
  • Event Center Anywhere from medium to large sized events in the community as well as newlife.

Now What? After three years of a slowly declining economy and little to no conversations about development, I asked newlifer, Kevin Krieger, to take the lead with a team of people to advise the elder team on how to best maximize this property in order to accomplish our vision. Through much prayer and discussion, we are currently in communication with teams and are making plans to move forward. With a $20,000 monthly payment on the properties, we plan to continue pursuing our options of development. We do have some traction is a joint venture development and the property is still one of the few commercial pieces of real estate left in Silverdale that would allow for a development. We believe that the timeframe for this project to begin is 18-24 months.
