It all started with an assignment. Not a vision. An assignment. The assignment was this: “Start a church for people who don’t go to church.” 14 people met to dream about what a church like that would be. Who would come? What would they experience?

Follow me and I will teach you how to fish for people.

170,000 – that was the number of people in the community around newlife who weren’t part of any church. Newlifers believed that Jesus was inviting them to go on the mission with him in their everyday life . . . with their friends and neighbors. The result? We kept running out of space . . . So, we made more space . . . we added more gatherings and more locations – Now, 21 years later, newlife is one church meeting in multiple locations all around the West Sound.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.

Jesus thinks his disciples will make more disciples. Jesus isn’t looking for professional Christians or people who have it all together. He’s asking you to follow him in your everyday life – and to invite your friends, family and neighbors to do the same.
